Greetings in the name of the Lord!

We want to give thanks once again to you for your prayers and generosity, and praise to our God for hearing, blessing and providing.

The first thing we did during the 6 weeks we were back in the states was to attend the annual mission conference of our sending church, RRBC. Joel had the honor of preaching Sunday night for the last service of the conference. What a privilege it was to stand in that pulpit where the Gospel has been preached for almost 50 years!

Spreading the gospel through missions has been the heart beat of this great church under the leadership of both the former pastor, Dr. John Powell, and under her current pastor. During the conference Pastor Jim Newton undertook the burden of raising the money to help us with the purchase of a car here in Mexico and $2,500.00 was raised to that end.

To date we have over $4,000.00. It is amazing to watch God work. In January we mentioned this in our prayer letter, but there was no response and so we thought that possibly God did not want us to go in this direction. We decided to mention it one more time in our letter in April and in a matter of weeks God moved on hearts to give toward this.

We want to say thank Reimer Road Baptist Church, Temple Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church, and thank you anonymous donor! Now the search for the right car begins in earnest. Please pray.

We would also like to thank those who gave instruments to be used here in Mexico. We received a 66 key Yamaha keyboard and a Yamaha guitar from Gonzalo & Sandra Gonzalez, a child's guitar from a member of Calvary Memorial Baptist Church and we have a small organ waiting for us in TX donated by Eddie Ramirez.

If you have an instrument (keyboard, guitar, accordion, brass or woodwind, string, whatever) that you no longer use and would like to donate it to be used for the glory of God here in Mexico, hang on to it and we can pick it up next spring when we will have our van back in Chattanooga for its annual emissions inspection.

During our short stay in Chattanooga we were able to be present for the birth of Clair, Emily's and Paul's 2 baby. Pam, along with Paul, was able to be in the operating room for Emily's C-section. Praise the Lord for a healthy baby and for Emily's good recovery.

We also were able to attend the ordination of Nathaniel. Joel was privileged to sit on the ordination council and participate in the laying on of hands during the service itself.

When we crossed back into Mexico our van was full: instruments, a complete PA system, clothes, food, etc. I listed much of what we had, but they only taxed us on $500.00. Praise the Lord!

Paying the $100.00 was the easy part. They did not want to let us renew our visas, because we had not been out of the country for the required 6 months. They did renew us, but things do seem to be getting a little tighter. Eventually, we may need to apply for our FM-3 papers. It is a drawn out process and the longer they can draw it out, the more money it takes.

We were back In Jimenez just in time to take part in the 2 groups that came on a mission trip. Unfortunately 4 groups cancelled, but we were able to see a number of people indicate that they had received Christ as Savior.

The first village we went to is just outside of Parral (Paddal), an hour SW of Jimenez. A thunderstorm came up very quickly and we had to leave without having the meeting. That was somewhat disappointing, but we knew that God was not taken by surprise.

We went back 2 weeks later and the man who allowed us to connect to his electricity attended. (He was not going to be able to attend the first meeting because they were having a party at his house that night.)

There ensued a battle between the Holy Spirit and Satan. The man's son called him on his cell phone and talked the entire service. Meanwhile some nuns and other people came out of the town's Catholic Church. They stood just off the plaza where we were having our service and talked. Some of the people attending the service got up, went over and spoke with the nuns, and then left.

After the service was over the man whose son called him, came over and started talking to Berna (Bedna), one of the national missionaries. Then he had some more questions which Mike Combs, another missionary, answered. The man bowed his head and accepted Christ as Savior right then and there! The Battle Belongs to the Lord!

We also had another service in Valle de Allende (Vahye de Ahyende), where the next church plant will be. Even though it rained before the service it was well attended and we saw many hands raised indicating they had received Christ as Savior than night. We handed out John/Romans to the children and New Testaments to the Adults. Thank you Bearing Precious Seed for those.

We also want to thank Everett and Janet Britton for making it possible to purchase, well below cost, quality cordless mics that are used in these services. Less cables to trip on means less distractions and lower chances of injury with the number of people used in the different skits at these services,

We continue to have the children's church meet at our house and enjoy watching Wicho and Carina take the lead in teaching the children, putting together skits the children perform in church, and organizing outings for the children. In September we will be taking those children who are faithful in attendance to a Poncho Villa museum in Parral. Pray for us!

We also praise the Lord for adding a new supporting church in Texas.

Please continue to pray. We truly believe that it is your faithful prayers that keep us safe and supplied.

…Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. — Jude 21-23
